Adaptations from classical computing to quantum computing

Abstract:

Quantum computing is an ever-evolving field with the potential to revolutionize the way information is processed, emphasizing its potential applications in areas such as cryptography, optimization, and artificial intelligence. This work aimed to analyze the main differences between classical computing and quantum computing. To achieve this, a review was conducted regarding the main hardware technologies used in quantum computing and quantum logic gates, mapping available services in the market, and providing an example of algorithm adaptation to the quantum context using the Qiskit library for the classification of the public dataset “wine recognition.” It is concluded that quantum computing holds significant promises for technological and scientific advancement, although there are still challenges to be overcome.
