Abstract:
In Brazil, the most common technology in rehabilitation repair of structures with chloride-induced corrosion makes use of industrialized mortar of polymer modified Portland cement. To extend of the service life of the repair, corrosion inhibitor can be added to this type of mortar. They are used by impregnation of the concrete surface to avoid a future corrosive process. Which car be formed by the natural electrochemical incompatibility of the repair mortar and the original concrete contaminated with chloride ions. Another available technology for the same purpose is to use a galvanic anode embedded into the end of the exposed rebar in the area to be repaired. In this article, the results of accelerated corrosion, conducted in order to evaluate the performance of the two technologies applied n concrete specimens with a previously corroded process, are presented. The results showed the efficiency of both technologies even in the condition of saline ingress through the repair/concrete interface in some test specimens.
