The sale of products on international markets and in some areas of the domestic market requires obligatory safety tests, which constitute legal requirements accepted by the WTO (World Trade Organization), according to the three principles of Health, Environment and Safety (HES).
IPT performs tests for various electrical and electronic products. Many of these tests are accredited by Cgcre/Inmetro and can be used in compulsory certification procedures in Brazil.
The Institute offers technological support for the compliance of these products to safety standards.
The main product families tested by IPT include:
• Audio and video equipment, IEC 60065 standard;
• Electro-medical equipment, NBR IEC 60601-1 standard and specific codes;
• Domestic electric products, NBR IEC 60335-1 standard and specific codes;
• Information technology equipment, IEC 60950-1 standard.
