Relação entre algumas propriedades de rochas silicatadas brasileiras

Abstract:

More than four hundred silicatic rock samples used in Brazil for cladding were characterized by means of physical and physical-mechanic tests based on Brazilian (ABNT) standards or ASTM´s standards, when there were no Brazilian ones. The most common type of rock samples were gneiss (38%) and granite (33%). The others were intermediary to basic rocks. The determined properties were apparent porosity (η), uniaxial compressive strength (σc), longitudinal ultrasonic pulse velocity (Vp) and static modulus of elasticity. (Ee). The dynamics moduli were calculated from the pulse velocity and density values and so a proposed calculated static modulus of elasticity from the uniaxial compressive strength. A proportion coefficient (k) was determined to allow the determination of the calculated static modulus of elasticity. (Eec). The coefficient was obtained from the compressive streght (σc) and static modulus of elasticity (Ee) values from the tests: Eec = k.√σc, where k=120.81. The statistic treatment showed that the correlation between these and the other properties ranged from medium to weak.
