Abstract:
The corrosiveness, oxygen (O ²), the derivatives of petroleum (naphtha, gasoline and diesel) is checked by the test of the standard NACE TM-0172: 2001. In this assay, the cylindrical surface of bodies of the test piece is prepared and immersed in the mixture of the derivative to be tested with distilled water. The mixture is stirred for four hours. Then, the body surface of the test piece is examined and the corroded area is determined. It was found, in the literature, works that discuss in detail the above test. Given this, it was considered important to develop a project aimed at checking the influence of the different conditions under which the test results obtained in NACE. The study of test conditions individually, namely: degree of agitation, the geometry of the body-of-proof, water content, temperature and time of test.
