Accelerated aging tests are used to predict shelf life of materials. Arrhenius model assumes that the rate of chemical reactions (k) depends exclusively on the temperature at which they occur, and a linear relationship between the inverse of the absolute temperature (T) and the logarithm of the reaction rate is expected. In this study, accelerated aging tests based in this model were carried in order to verify the effect of aging in the brightness of offset and couche papers. For both papers the results obtained showed the linear correlation expected by the Arrhenius model, thus it was possible to predict the time required to occur a 4% brightness loss at a temperature of 25 °C.
