Abstract:
Oxy-combustion is the process inwhich the combustion is realized using an oxidizer with oxygen content higher than 21 % found in atmospheric air. The practice brings a series of benefits, mainly related to fuel consumption and the emission of air pollutants, but it implies in additional, fixed and operational costs. The Laboratório de Bioenergia e Eficiência Energética of the IPT has been working on the theme since 1991, carrying out theoretical and experimental works, many in partnership or financed by the company White Martins.
