Abstract:
Pigmented concrete has been used more often in construction, confirming its importance as
contemporary material of architecture. This article aims to verify if the use of hydro-repellent modifies
the chromaticity of colored concrete. For the analysis, three samples were molded with dimensions of
9x9x4cm, two of them with pigment based on iron oxide in two colors (red and black) and the third
sample without pigment. For each sample, measurements were made before and after application of the
hydro repellent. Two equipments were used to collect the colorimetric numerical data: the tristimulus
colorimeter and the spectrophotometer. It was verified that the application of the hydro repellent
changed the color of the colored concrete and that there were differences between the results found
with the two measuring instruments.
