Abstract:
This paper proposes a script to support maintenance and project of EDI systems between vendors and customers in Brazil. The script deals with the specific requirements generated by the lack of a common EDI standard in Brazil and seeks to reduce the failures in the translation between the standards, provides tools to facilitate the system support, and facilitates the system maintenance. The script was applied in real EDI integration cases in four enterprises and previous and subsequent data to its implementation had been collected and statically compared to confirm the script effectiveness. As a result, it was possible to show statistically significant reduction in the number of incidents per transaction due to the implementation of the script.
