Nanoencapsulation of solid hydrophobic actives: influence of block copolymer as protective colloids

Abstract:

The nanotechnology can enhance the permeation and the penetration of actives through the skin layers. This work investigated the action of two block copolymers in the formation and in the encapsulation efficiency of polymeric nanocapsules by emulsion-diffusion of solvent method. It were developed four colloidal suspension containing a model hydrophobic active with different proportion of Pluronic F®127 and Pluronic F®68. It was observed that the Pluronic F®68 promoted a better encapsulation of the hydrophobic active than Pluronic F®127. Beside these the increase of amount of both copolymers promoted a reduction in the particle size
