Evaluation and optimization of the acoustic performance of buildings

Compartilhe:
Evaluation of the acoustic performance of housing units is aimed at providing conditions for acoustic comfort inside them and at reducing impacts on the surrounding environment. This can be done either by on-site measurement of noise levels, when the building’s global acoustic performance is evaluated by computer simulation of noise propagation, or by laboratory tests to evaluate the acoustic insulation of building components such as doors, windows, walls, etc. The procedures and criteria established by the ABNT NBR 15575-2008 standard are applied for residential buildings in Brazil.

In this context, IPT prepares recommendations for interventions in buildings or in their design in order to mitigate noise sources and improve their acoustic comfort.
