Analysis of risks and causes of collapse and subsidence

Compartilhe:

We are sometimes taken unawares by phenomena such as soil subsidence and collapse at sites with or without civil works. IPT has ample experience in investigating the causes of such incidents, which result from carstic collapse (dissolution of chalk rock by flowing water), lowering of the water table or the presence of soft, collapsible, dispersive or expansive soils.

To support this activity, IPT has teams that can conduct geological and geotechnical studies, evaluate interference in surrounding buildings, carry out laboratory and field trials on soil and rock, monitor soil movements, perform analyses and numerical simulations, etc. The resulting data enable them to determine the causes of problems and perform risk analyses, which are recorded in technical reports and opinions of recognized technical caliber.
