Abstract:
A new methodology for processing vertical electrical sounding (VES) is presented. The field data, acquired in eighties, consists of VES with a long AB length, acquired at the Paraná Sedimentary Basin, in the western portion of the State of São Paulo, for oil and gas prospecting purposes. The Residual Function Dispersion Maps (RFDM) was obtained. Analysis of these maps allowed the construction of the geoelectric model in subsurface and the understanding about the relative ambiguity of the parameters. Further improvements for data analysis and interpretation can be achieved at the time when seismic data acquired in Paraná Basin will be available
