Abstract:
The landslides are a very important geologic matter in the city of São Paulo. Its importance grasps several social strata, such as habitation, public health and sanitation. With the purpose to identify the places where the landslides may occur, the public administration of São Paulo (Prefeitura Municipal de São Paulo) and IPT (Instituto de Pesquisas e Tecnologia) made a research in 2010 to define the sectors around the city that were risked of suffering landslides. This study used the data from the previous research to analyze the influence of the geological factors in landslides of high and very high risk. Intersecting the IPT’s research data to lithotypes, structural patterns and declivity. Analysing the results of this research, concluses that the physical attributes have strong relation to high and very high risk of landslide in the city of São Paulo.
