Abstract:
This article aims to consolidate the key concepts and the possible ramifications involving Smart Cities and the potential integration of social networks concepts with the Internet of Things (IoT). From this conceptual base, we intend to explore in an expeditious manner possible applications of Social Internet of Things (SIoT) within the Smart Cities in seven fields of application: Mobility, Mobile Government, Smart Girds Energy, e-Health, Sustainability and Environment, People and Governance. Further, we intend to discuss the question of the frameworks application and constructions, and the necessary level of standardization to enable the Smart Cities of the future, once this will consist of heterogeneous embedded sensors. Still, the urban conglomerates should be rethought to adapt and take advantage of new possibilities. In this work we present the basic assumptions, the main technological challenges and experimental ideas that can be employed in the designs of smart cities
