Sound insulation level in residential buildings in Brazil and noise annoyance inside homes

Compartilhe:
Abstract:

In Brazil, the minimum sound insulation levels for walls and floors are established by technical standards. The Brazilian standard establishes only levels of sound insulation and does not mention the noise annoyance inconvenience. This study correlates the noise levels produced by vehicle traffic, building installations and electronic devices with the sound insulation of conventional sealing elements in Brazil. The assessment of noise annoyance will be made considering the permissible noise level inside the buildings, the frequency spectrum of the noise generating sources and the characteristics of the acoustic insulating components of the buildings.
