Abstract:
Training in corrosion has each more importance because failures caused by it can be observed in all human activity and most of these failures were avoided if the knowledge already established were carried out. In other words, most of the problems caused by corrosion could be avoided if the technicians had got training. This paper presents some corrosion tests that could be useful as a pratical support to a corrosion training. The theoretical considerations on the corrosion tests will involve: potential-pH equilibrium diagram; main cathodic reactions in the corrosion processes; crevice corrosion; pitting corrosion; galvanic corrosion, stress corrosion.
