Abstract
The simultaneous deposition of zinc with iron group metals has been extensively studied during the last decade due to the increase use of zinc alloy coatings in automobile industries. Attempt has been made for the clear understanding of the mechanisms of the simultaneous depositions of zinc with iron-group metal. A theoretical explanation based on thermodynamic and kinetic considerations is presented in order to explain the preferential deposition of zinc, the less noble metal, and the occurrence of underpotential deposition of zinc.
