Abstract
This work focuses on the physical properties of nickel coatings obtained by electrodeposition using Watts type baths. It discusses the microstructure and the texture of these deposits and correlates them with the bath operational conditions and the bath composition including the additives. The electrical resistivity is also discussed, pointing the influence of operational conditions and bath composition especially the influence of contaminants. Finally, the factors that influence the internal stress level of nickel deposits are presented and discussed.
