Abstract:
This work sheet (non-aged) carbon steel hot dip galvanized in non-continuous process – and not shaded cromatizado – contaminated with soluble salts of chloride from the process of galvanizing, were subjected to four types of pre-painting treatment: degreasing with organic solvent, high pressure water jetting, through the determination of chloride contents surface plates pretreated. It was found the performance of such pre-treatments for removal of contaminants soluble chloride salt, associating this action the performance of inks applied (one coat of paint adhesion epoxy-isocyanate bicomponent iron oxide, over a coat of epoxy-polyamide bicomponent) to them. To this end, body-of-evidence pretreated and painted underwent accelerated corrosion tests (immersion in distilled water and exposure to humidity chamber), followed by the determination of degree of blistering and adhesion testing of the ink film. In general, the performance of paints was directly related to the surface soluble chloride content, except for those applied in body-of-evidence sandblasted. The high pressure water jetting and mechanical action abrasive sponge and hot distilled water were pre-treatments that provided the best performance of the paint schemes
