Abstract:
A summary of failure cases of boilers caused by corrosion studied during the year 1963 to 1986 by Corrosion Laboratory of IPT is presented. The main cause of failure is creep, deficiencies in the water treatment and corrosion by combustion gases. It observed that the failure due to the former causes has been reducing and the latter increasing along these years. Best water treatment and more corrosive combustible are responsible for these facts.
