Abstract:
Predicting the useful life of most metals used in buildings is still a difficult task for designers and researchers. This article, based on a durability study performed at IPT, tries to identify the most common steel, copper and aluminum degradation mode and indicates some procedures for specifying corrective and preventive treatments.
