IPT is equipped to develop structural intervention projects in geological and geotechnical risk areas. Such interventions aim to eliminate identified risks by means of specific engineering works, such as slopes stabilization, drainage systems, surface protection, types of housing better suited to the terrain, etc.
In addition to these direct actions, the Institute can assist in decision making for selection of the best corrective interventions based on available alternatives for these risk areas and by the development of stability studies for specific slopes. Among the clients that routinely request services from the Institute are public and private bodies, especially municipal governments, departments and state-owned companies.
