IPT’s activities in the area of building pathology aim to identify pathological problems in constructive elements, such as fissures or cracks, delamination of overlays, water infiltration in building façades, roofs and floors, and problems related to deterioration of construction materials. Over time, such problems in buildings may affect performance-related aspects such as comfort, salubrity or even safety.
The Institute’s actions are not limited to diagnostics but include the proposal of solutions for the recovery or maintenance of buildings. Work may be performed in individual buildings or in condominiums, housing projects and different types of constructions, such as commercial, school, housing or industrial buildings.
