Characterization and performance of technical textiles

Compartilhe:
Technical textiles are defined according to the product’s final use or application rather than by the material’s composition or structure. They meet technical requirements aimed at conferring high-level performance, and are textiles used in safety devices, civil engineering and the environment. The newest generation of technical textiles is the so-called “intelligent materials”, which incorporate new technologies such as a bioactive function to eliminate bacteria and the ability for self-modification.

The materials used in these applications require specific physicochemical characteristics for which IPT offers characterization tests and performance evaluations based on national and international standards to verify compliance to required specifications. In the absence of applicable technical standards, methodologies can be developed based on studies of the client’s specific needs and subject to his agreement.
