IPT has already developed over 130 types of Certified Reference Materials, including:
- Chemical compositions – steels, cast iron, pure metals, copper and iron alloys, refractory metals and ores
- Physical standards – viscosity, calorific value and specific mass, etc.
- Standards for the oil industry – flash point, fluidity point, clogging point, distillation properties of gasoline and diesel oil, as well as several certified sulfur contents in fuel oil and diesel oil.
Many clients seek to substitute imported reference materials due to their high costs and unacceptable delivery conditions and validity periods. IPT performs feasibility studies to substitute such materials for those developed by the Institute, identifying key properties certified in the imported material and comparing their specifications to similar products developed by IPT, with very positive and advantageous results for Brazilian clients.
