Evaluation of the wear rate of milling bodies

Compartilhe:
Numerous industrial processes include milling, which involves significant costs due to the amount of energy it requires and high equipment wear rates. Industrial milling is performed mainly in rotary mills, which are basically cylinders inside which the milling parts (balls, bars, pebbles or cylpebs) move freely as they comminute the material to be milled.

IPT has developed a method to evaluate quantitatively and qualitatively, on a pilot scale, the wear of ball-type milling bodies during the milling process. The results obtained by this method enable the industry to forecast the wear of milling bodies of each material, allowing for preselection of suppliers and identification of the best alloy for each application, with resulting savings throughout the process.
