IPT has a specialized laboratory destined for metro systems and railways, with competencies developed over decades. Work has been performed on different parts of Brazil’s rail network, especially for the Metro Company of São Paulo, including characterization of infrastructure and experimental determination of wheel loads, stresses on rails, sleepers, fixings, elastic supports, etc.
Analysis and evaluation of track equipment include execution of static and dynamic laboratory tests of components, dynamic measurements on the railway, buildings adjacent to railroads, and on other buildings during the passage of trains. The main objective is to ensure the safety and good performance of components while vehicles are in motion.
