Using procedures recommended by specific standards (ABNT – NBR 9804 – Hospital Autoclave and in the Brazilian Pharmacopeia (4th edition) – Sterility test), IPT evaluates equipment with different types of physical or chemical antimicrobial action. Physical processes evaluated include dry heat, humid heat, ultraviolet radiation and ozonization.
The most important products analyzed are those applied in the medical-hospital, domestic, esthetic and industrial areas, such as bench and hospital autoclaves, home appliances (washing machines, dishwashers, microwave ovens, water filters), ozonizers for home, car and other environments, and sterilization ovens for dental and esthetic instruments.
