Compliance verification and adulteration of fuels and lubricants

Compartilhe:
Fuel quality in Brazil is defined by a set of chemical and physicochemical characteristics, listed in the Resolutions and Regulations of the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency – ANP. These specifications establish limits for each characteristic in order to ensure the quality of all fuels sold in Brazil.

A fuel that fails to comply with the specified minimum requirements damages the engine and other vehicle components, leading to unsatisfactory performance, loss of power and increased fuel consumption. This fuel may also harm the environment by causing the emission of gases and particulate material.

IPT has the necessary competencies and instrumentation to verify fuel conformity to Brazilian and international specifications.

Adulteration of gasoline with solvents can be determined using gas chromatography with flame ionization detection to separate and identify over fifty organic compounds in gasoline.

Gasoline samples may be collected by IPT or by the client requesting the service.
