Technological solutions based on Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) are increasingly used to monitor and control urban traffic, increasing the need for technical evaluations of equipment, systems and services offered for more informed decisions about their acquisition or contracting, with a view to achieving qualification or technical approval in public tender offers.
Tests of urban traffic control equipment and systems are not yet regulated in Brazil. IPT has developed methodologies to evaluate technical and performance characteristics of these systems in the field, comparing them with the specific items of each tender document. This methodology may be adapted and applied for different requirements.
