Abstract
The Corrosion and Electrodeposition Laboratory of Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas do Estado de São Paulo S.A. – IPT has been conducting tests for ELETROPAULO – Eletricidade de São Paulo S.A. to determine the concentration of the following atmospheric pollutants: hydrogen sulfide (H2S), sulfur dioxide (SO2), solid particulates (MP), and the determination of chloride (Cl-), deposition rates of sulfur compounds. We have been determining also values of temperature, relative humidity, pluviometric index and acid rain. These measurements has been conducted at six different sites of São Paulo within the areas covered by ELETROPAULO. The objective of these work is to continue the studies started, approximately, ten years ago, boarding different aspects of atmospheric corrosion.
